In addition to the software packages available via the opkg package manager, Gumstix also makes available pre-built images.

 

Overo

You can find pre-built images for the Overo series here. These images are recent builds from the top of the Overo OE build tree.

You can use these images to boot from a microSD card by following the instructions in the Creating a bootable microSD card article. You can also use these images to boot from NAND by following the instructions in the Writing images to onboard nand article. When writing to nand, keep in mind the size limitations of the nand roofs partition. In particular you will need to use omap3-desktop-nand-image rather than omap3-desktop-image.

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to manufacturing logistics, the image shipped with your Gumstix Overo COM could be several months old. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you update your software image to a recent release immediately upon receiving your products from Gumstix, Inc.
