Benchmarks, power & temperatures
We are currently in the process of moving and updating content from the wiki. In the meantime you can find this information at Benchmarks
verdex configurations
* consoleLCD16-vx board + verdex XL6P motherboard + netCF-vx board, no display attached => 5V x 0.4A == 2W
* console-vx board + verdex XM4-BT motherboard + netwifimicroSD board.
- wifi active == 5V x 0.5A == 2.5W
- wifi not active == 5V x 0.3A == 1.5W
Basix and Connex
At 4.5V:
* 99MHz CPU, 50MHz bus, idle: 0.01-0.02A
* 200MHz CPU, 100MHz bus, idle: 0.03-0.04A
* 400MHz CPU, 100MHz bus, idle: 0.06A
* 200MHz CPU, 100MHz bus, 100% CPU usage: 0.12A
* 400MHz CPU, 100MHz bus, 100% CPU usage: 0.22A
These power requirements are approximate.
Note also that the PXA bus to RAM can go up to 133MHz depending upon the components chosen, which might well increase things like FFT performance.
PXA255-based basix and connex products
All PXA255-based basix and connex products are rated from 0C to 85C degrees ambient as they are designed for a commercial (so-called nominal) temperature range.
Customers placing a volume order(s) that include at least 120 motherboards may specify the extended temperature range of -25 C to 85 C degrees ambient. Contact sales at gumstix.com for further information on extended temperature basix or connex motherboards.
Industrial operating specification of of -40C to 85C is not possible on the gumstix basix and connex products as an industrial temperature version of this PXA255 processor is not available.
PXA270-based verdex products
All PXA270-based verdex products are rated from -25C to 85C. The verdex motherboard uses the smaller PXA270 model VFBGA which is 13mm x 13mm and rated from -25C to 85C.
Industrial operating specification of -40C to 85C is not possible for the gumstix verdex motherboards as there is no industrial temperature version of the PXA270 model VFBGA.
