120-pin Molex Connector and Verdex Pro motherboards

Molex discontinued further availability of the 120-pin MOLEX connector that Gumstix uses in the Verdex (not Pro) motherboards. As a result, Gumstix has produced a "Verdex Pro" product line as detailed here .

Announced in Q3, 2008, each Verdex Pro motherboard uses an 80-pin connector instead of the MOLEX 120-pin connector used on each the verdex motherboard.


Two Versions of netmicroSD-vx and netwifimicroSD-vx boards: R1700 and R1860 for Verdex (not Pro) motherboards

There are two versions of the netmicroSD board available: the PCB10039-R1700 version and the PCB10042-R1860 version. As such, customers should consider the information below when purchasing one or more netmicroSD-vx , netwifimicroSD FCC or netwifimicroSD EU expansion board.

A reminder that the netwifimicroSD FCC and netwifimicroSD EU boards are comprised of a netmicroSD board with a wifi module snapped on.


1/ The PCB10039-R1700 version of the netmicroSD board uses the Halo ABC connector for the RJ45 connector.

2/ The PCB10042-R1860 version of the netmicroSD board uses the AMP XYZ connector and is slightly longer than the R1700 board. The AMP XYZ connector has small tabs on three sides of the connector that give electrical connection to the chassis for ESD.

3/ Note that these two versions have different physical dimensions so third-party product and case design that incorporates a netmicroSD-vx , netwifimicroSD FCC and netwifimicroSD EU expansion board should be planned accordingly.

2/ Customers ordering in volume must be specify which version of the board they desire, PCB10039-R1700 or PCB10042-R1860 , when ordering a netmicroSD-vx , netwifimicroSD FCC and netwifimicroSD EU.
