Connector Change: To Hirose connector

As of December, 2005, the 60-pin hirose connector has been changed as follows:

  1. The JTAG pins have been removed from allocation on the 60-pin connector and made available as test points (positions to be published) on the reverse side of the gumstix (i.e. the same side as the 92 pin connector)
  2. A fourth UART on the Hirose connector has been made available by using four (4) of the now available five (5) Hirose pins to include the fourth UART.

As such, all basix and connex boards now offer four UARTs on the hirose connector.

Enlarge mounting holes

The three (3) mounting holes on the gumstix basix and connex platforms have been enlarged just slightly so that a 0-80 screw pushes through each hole without threading. The recommended approach for stability is using 0-80 stainless machine screws with a nylon sleeve providing spacing.

You can purchase these screws from the store.
